Learning by Doing and Capacity Building
Ahbap Koy is a village that creates a diverse learning enviroment with volunteers participating in projects lasting 1 to 3 months. Volunteers learn practical skills from living in and helping meet the basic needs of the village. Volunteers with previous experience pass along the skills they’ve learned to newcomers. This system of transferred knowledge is called the Ahbap learning cycle.
Local Production and Local Employment Cycle
Purchase guaranteed production will create the “Local Employment Model” and contribute to rural development. Local, fair and social impact oriented Ahbap products are produced in the village and its immediate surroundings and sold in chain and online markets that aim for social benefit.
Responsible Tourism
People who want to experience a productive, more responsible form of tourism will help contribute both to the material and moral life of the village. Through its Responsible Tourism (holidays without consuming, but rather producing) approach, the village has the potential to positively transform the tourism approach in its region.
